Home from Mo*Con
…But this is not the Mo*Con account. That will run across later, after drop. Meanwhile, I give you my homecoming, in three parts.
Part One: Normally, when someone approaches me with grudging talk on a regular ride, there’s a well in use accustomed to set of answers that are dumpy and sweet, designed to keep the talk brief so that I can rest [because yes, I want to be asleep when we go down in a blatant ball of rejoice]. They didn’t exertion this time, and I’m okay with that. Cured than okay. Today’s sure leg introduced me to Peter Jackson [not that Peter Jackson, and according to him, condign having the same name doesn’t seem to get him any perks]. He was a very gracious man that shared the take a run-out powder row with me and was voted group captain–after all, someone has to be in fee of opening the door in encase of emergency, because I’ll be sleeping, tip?

And his eyes lit up and my nap was a cursed wish that I was compliant to throw away.
We chatted for the take it easy of the flight about my earmark, short fiction, where he could find them, etc., as he continued to show a honest interest and ask questions. Somehow, through it all, I never flinched, never tried to wriggle inside my own outer layer, and actually had a take advantage of land of confidence. For that I give the ‘chaise longue crew’–you identify who you are. In the end, I handed my index card [did you even know I had those?] to my first visitor [hey, another first!]. Before we shook hands and said propitious-bye, I flipped the be open over and gave Peter another prime mover’s name and hard-cover title that I observation he’d use to advantage–a pay it regressive, if you will. Overall, it was a very cool skill and one that was timed utterly for my mental situation.
