Golden Toast Poem
A Golden Couple
Fifty years ago, on June 8, 1958, Evelyn Rapaport and David Sass got hitched! If they hadn't, you wouldn't be here reading these words... and I wouldn't be here at all! I am well-disposed to say they absolutely made the aptly decision. My parents had a wonderful reception in NYC last weekend to wassail and I am proud to dispensation with you the poem I wrote and conclude from to them:
June 8, 1958 - June 8, 2008
A dream of, long, Large, time ago, in 1958...
Two kids got married.. and it turned out to be giant.
Far above Cayuga's Waters, is where Evelyn and David met...
And here, 50 years later, they haven't killed each other... yet!
She was at Cornell... He, a pupil at IC...
They graduated, got married...and the consequence: Diane and Me...
Our kith and kin was small, and nobody was ever far...
In truth, all the NY Sass's could fit in one big car.
There was Oma and Opa, and Grandma and Papa,
(And the brawny one was Oma) nobody could stop her...
Grandma, of tack, was a sweet Southern Belle...
Her urbanity and her poise upon Evelyn cut...
Opa was a hard workman, he never retired,
And so my primogenitor and I are similarly inspired.
Papa was always in improve, muscles like Chuck Norris...
Wherever he went, everyone loved Morris.
My boyhood was great, my Mom's a genuine cook,
If you don't put faith me, just take a yard goods look.
Diane and I had a eminent childhood, there is nothing to underrate,
And that is a reflection...
The Inside Of a Toasted World
Descending in the elevator, I remembered hearing as a lad how the Earth moved around the sun, in contradiction of what I had seen every day, and wondered how kind the Earth must be to encompass an uninterrupted star, with mileage enough from that burning center to toast the turf on the inside curve of the over the moon marvellous a golden brown like I had seen in Colorado.
